Professional Statement of Intent

I am seeking growth and experience. Though I would like compensation that ensures a secure and comfortable lifestyle, and a work-life balance that allows me to enjoy that lifestyle, more than anything I am seeking a position that grants me fulfillment by offering long term growth of skills and experiences above all else.

This has made me driven and passionate. This drive and passion means I always enjoy new problems to solve and creative solutions to try. This has sharpened my organizational, communicational, technical, and research skills, as I feel these are the cornerstones of solving any problem and earning those new experiences and growth. In my search for fulfillment though, I have established two particularly strong sets of skills.

My interpersonal skills such as communication, professionalism, conflict resolution, and rapport establishment have helped me to excel. Allowing me to communicate effectively in a number of professional contexts, function efficiently as a member and leader of teams, and recognize and understand my responsibilities to make informed judgments. This skill set is what granted me the promotion stated in my resume.

In contrast, the technical skills in Information Technology and Computer Science that I earned through study and projects completed at Delta College and Southern New Hampshire University, have all opened up considerable opportunities for new experiences. These skills include computer and network installation, troubleshooting, repair, and administration; and application and web design and coding. Using these, I am able to analyze complex computer problems, apply principles of computing to identify solutions, and then design, implement, and evaluate those computing-based solutions for success.

Because of these two skill sets, and my drive for new experiences, it is my statement of purpose to combine the interpersonal with the technical. To carve out a career founded on the concept of solving human problems with computing solutions. This has strengthened my ability to identify and analyze user needs when handling information systems, but I am still seeking the opportunity to exercise these skills, and earn that growth that fulfills me.
